I have a set of Bucket seats that came in my duster they arent the original ones. I think they might be from 75-76. They have a tan cloth like velour material and the back has vinyl with pouches on the lower half of seat. Below the pouch there is a carpet like material where the seatback and bottom meets. I have never seen A body buckets that look like this. Anyone know if these are A body or what they are. Thanks

Sounds like a set that I pulled out of a 1975 Dart 4-door that also had a center fold down arm rest. It was a fancier car as far as darts go. I ran the buckets out of that in my 74 2-door without the arm rest.

Pics could help us confirm though.

Yah, pictures would be good but I now believe your right. They are out of 75-76 valiant. Funny thing is there is set on ebay the exact same seat. I want to recover them in black and use in my drag car. What are the odds that under the seat covers the foam and frames are the same as earlier Duster seats. at least 73-74 seats.

Seat inner structures rarely changed. The tracks under them did change when the floor pan changed to accomodate a cat' converter.74 up I think

I have seen seat's like this in the 77 Aspen's and Velar'e But the attaching rails may be different, Still a cool bucket seat.

I know this is seriously an old Post But... I recently have bought two sets like joes68340s mentioned. One set was from a 1974 4dr Brougham (and converted to be like 2dr type) the others were from a 74 2dr Dart. I re-upholstered those to be black vinyl now. It is interesting to note that the cloth seats, with the rear pockets, have a slightly different interior listing wire set ups than the factory vinyl seats. Still more or less the same but the upper cross rod piece does not have anything to be Hog Ringed to. The listing wires on both sides go through little eye holes on each side of the cross rod before going into a hole on each side in the upper seat frame. Funny why those were made different than the vinyl seat frames?

I have full Green, & Beige, 2dr. sets. Beige went in My Thunderbooger, Green in the Killer6. Still have the seats, don't have the cars, lol. Only hangup with them is the tunnel-side seat track on the passenger side is basically flat, those floorpans were different & raised to clear the catalytic converter, so You have to swap a pre-cat track onto them or get creative.

From what I understand, 70-74 A-body bucket seat tracks are the same, 2dr and 4dr? Or at least interchangable? I know the floor pans are different on 75-76's and I knew something about the seat tracks were also different. It makes sense it would be the inner tracks because of the bump in the floor for the Cat. But from what I also believe, 75-76 360 powered a-bodies did not have Cat's but still had the provision in the floor pan?..

74-76 Valiant Broughams and Dart SEs could have velour bucket seats and "buddy seat" arm rests, even 4 doors could have them.

IIRC only available in tan, green, and dark red.

Yeah, I say Beige, Green, & Maroon. There was also a set of the Maroon ones in the yard I got the other 2 sets, I skipped getting those at the time,....like to be able to go back now. Buckets & Buddys yes, I'm not sure the rear seats are compatible, both of My sets came from Coupes.

IIRC the only difference between the seats used in 4 door cars and some vans, is the "latch".
It's a full, closed piece in non folding seats, but open with a hook on 2 door seats.
Can be modified to make folding.

...and the release button.
Might be a little more difficult, but some bench seat buttons/mechanisms interchange.

That's what I did, made my own latch so the seats would fold forward.

No button mechanism in those years. They had a chrome push on deal that I didn't try and replicate when I made mine.
