Street outlaws

-
The show sort of turned me off. I dont really like the whole "we have the fastest street cars in the nation" thing they always say...they trailer them to street where they are racing...I wouldnt consider them street cars and for anyone who would I sure there are plenty of faster cars out there on the streets. I know of one personally but these guys mouths are just a little too big. Unless its just for tv and then its sad seeing them act that way.

That really bothers me too. Supposedly most of the cars are registered, but for me, if its not driven around to the races, its not a street car.

when i was a kid i did a lot of street raceing. cars where 11 to 10 sec cars back then it was more for fun or king of the road. now that i am older yes when i have enough money and find on that says buy me i would like to build another racer. but i want to make a road course car that i can enjoy on the street and drive to car shows. yes there is to much drama on the show but discovery channel has gone to the way side and nistory channel just needs to change it name to the pawn stars. sorry just my thoughts

Real slicks. trailerd cars. not a street car in my book.
now u want fast street car---- LARRY LARSON 66 nova. street slicks, runs mid to high 6's. drive it any where (Hotrod Drag Week). true street car in my book.

dont get me wrong the cars on that show are bad *** fo sho. i like street racing as much as the next guy .

Certain racers, have a big bankbook, ego, and mouth,to match. Am a friend of one.(9.70 @138 Rat Camaro). The guy grew up,(early 30's).Car got stolen,(two blocks, from Fire bird). His first wife left him. Now he runs, high ,mid 8's on crazy Kawi Ninjas.(attitude gone, looking for personal acheivement). My personal experiences.

I watched it last night and mentioned that, yeah......there's too much talking going on....and not enough racing. It's a little too "reality-show" for me.....

Man, that Doc guy's Monte Carlo was almost completely ready to go out of control during his run.

Watching it now. Reminds me a bit of kids from the hills who have money when I was a kid. Some whacked out people too it appears. Maybe alot of that behavior is intentional for inflammatory dramatics?

It really does not shed proper positive light on the bulk of American hot rodders and car enthusiasts who are upright. Guess it aint supposed to? Are all these shows designed to bring an end to American hobbies and way of life by creating a negative stigma for them all?

Nevertheless, I am working out of a hotel, bored and still watching it..

Old thread I know, but I just watched a few shows. You lose all credibility once you become a trailer queen, not to mention they race on closed off areas and I've noticed how they wear apparel advertising automotive companies ( Ie sponsorship??). More unrealistic, reality TV. The shows a joke, just like most of Discoveries TV reality dramas..

That's just for Discovery. The cars are bad a$$.look in you tube for anything Dfwss,bigrob3232,1320 video, Midwest street cars,9097j,and 660 video.no matter what u call it it's still cars raced in the street.

There have been "bad a$$" cars around since the first "hot rod" , depending on your generation. You say it like it's something new. When I was growing up, if you turned up with a race car on a trailer to street race , then you were quickly shown the way home.
Guess the days of real street credibility have gone by the wayside. One of my buddies used to have a registered 9.90 index supergas car in the 90's.. it had a towbar and now and again he used to tow his runabout boat to the boat ramp with it..

It's not something new but new technology put it out there where it's easy to find others doing the same thing.I don't have nothing to run with those guys any more I sold it cause DFW friendship fell apart. Now I got a slow car and cruise
