"Technician" at Jiffy Lube?

-
I was hired as a "service writer " candidate,at one of these blowholes,a couple years ago.. Their training "professional 's" ,consists of : Watching the J.L. "training videos",.... that makes a person a "technician",here,& never changed an oil filter,in their
own life...They wanted me to upsell a product a product,I don't have respect for...I just have,some morals,somewhere.,.

as our economy "booms"! ha! ha! ha!.... the supply of workers dwindle, the more experienced, smarter, ambitious.. find better jobs and the lower end jobs are handled by the bottom people. so you can imagine what the work force becomes from any place that does not pay squat!!!
so, I change my own oil, always have. and I NEVER eat at a fast food joint!!!!!!!! maybe wilol eat a big mac when mickey dees starts paying $15 an hour, NO scratch that!!! I will not pay $11 for that burger!! ha!

Ii once told a truck dealership they had 15 acres of techs and not a mechanic in the bunch. They didn't argue.
One of my brothers worked at a Goodyear where they routinely replaced ruined engines they forgot to refill with oil.

BWAHAHAHAHA!

I don't f-up much, but when I do, it's a woozy.

Seriously, I had interviewed at Monro Muffler back in, I don't '06, '07. Sitting in the waiting room, talking with the DM about the job, there was a silver Liberty on a lift. Didn't pay much attention to what was going on.

When I left and heading home, I passed a silver Liberty sitting in the center turn lane, cop behind it and rollback in front, both front wheels missing.

An hour after I got home, the DM called wanting to change my position and offer me the job: shop foreman and assistant manager to make sure mistakes like that didn't happen again.
I loaned my daughter my 88 silverado, back when she was going to school. she had to keep it up, and had the oil changed at jiffy lube in Owasso, ok. they stripped the oil pan drain hole, and put an expandable rubber -wing nut plug in it and didn`t tell her. I found it on a later oil change when she brought it home. don`t even get me started about tire rotaters and tire shop people!

I worked as a mechanic at a towing company when I was in college. The boss showed me our official road test route to go after repairing the car. That way if if I was gone too long, they could send a truck to come get me (before the days of cell phones)... Luckily they never had to, all our repairs were good...

Did the same thing at the Hot Rod Shop I worked at back in the day.
