The super six when did it come out

The super six, I have done some searching but cant get the answer im looking for. When was it introduced in the Dodge Dart ? I thought it was very late seventies but not real sure. A fellow I know has one and wants to use it if its year correct. Thanks for any insight
 
My super six motor is from 1976, and I think that was the first year, but i'm not sure.
 
Whenever emissions crippled it even more that it was with the 1bbl.
 
In Oz, we got a sort of version of a Super 6...in 1968.
It had 9.3:1 CR, 2bbl Carter, and a low mount aircleaner, and a different cam too.
They were said to have 160hp....and they had badges saying so too.
 
Its just so weird, its a 73 Dart he has with this in it and man does it ever look original. The breather is like near mint and all looks real clean and tidy....Hes going to part it out but wanted the motor for the 73 Dart he has on his build.
 
Yeah, the motor in my '74 was the same way, it looked as if it had been there from factory, i only found it was wrong when i decoded the fender tag and VIN and found that my car was supposed to have a 225 with a 1 barrel carb. After that, i looked at the block and found it was from '76.
