I am in the process of switching my 408 "LA" stroker from a hyd to solid cam .I know im gunna need longer pushrods ,but is the end that sits in the lifter the same ? The old lifters were Edelbrock hyd. and the new ones are Isky Hardenable solids .The contact point in the Isky lifter appears to be bigger ,but the pushrod seems to fit the shape well.Need to be sure before i order them. The pushrods measure .313 or so ,so that would be a 5/16 right ? The solid Isky that im gunna be using is the one on the right .The hydraulic old one that i was using is on the left ...

Should be a 5/16 Ball/Cup no matter what brand you use.

I usually order them after I measure from Manton. I always run Oil Thru Pushrods even with the LA Heads. 3/8 pushrods oil thru with 5/16 tips. This way there is Pressurized oil on the ball and cup at the Rocker.

Im using W2 Econo heads and i think a 3/8 will have interferance with the heads .I remember it being close in a couple of spots before with the other cam .Im only running 230-250 open pressure ,do you think a 5/16 will work ?

Yes for sure 5/16 will work. You can get a thicker wall if you are worried about it. I would still run oil through pushrods if it were me. Manton makes some good stuff. I use them because they are about 15 min from my house. If I order in the morning I can usually pick them up by 3pm in the afternoon.

Check out there stuff here.......

When you get a length on the push rods, let me know. I have 6-7 sets of 5/16 ball and cup pushrods, and may have the length you need. PM me, so I make sure to get the message.

I will certainly do that .With the W2 heads im thinking there gunna be a tad longer than a regular SBM would be ...
