Thinking about building my own Caltracs

I have thought about going the homebuilt route but have not decided on springs ...

I think I better just buy them. I'd have a heck of a time making those pieces with a hack saw and hand file. I do have a cordless drill though! lol

I built a set using the link Swies posted as a guideline for a friends 68 Cougar. We just used his stock springs and it made a world of difference. The setup could certainly have been better but it would launch pretty well with that home made traction control.

Try clamping the front sections of the springs first, it's cheap, often effective,, and essentially does what Caltracs do,, ie. making a solid/stiff conection to the front spring bolt..
