Is that a Gremlin on the left in the background (Red)?
Also- haven't heard of that store in decades! Whatever happened to it? Bought out? Go under?

wow - I can't even remember where the Zayers store was..

I can.

Our closest one was in Horseheads in a plaza with Great American. The last Great American I remember seeing was about fifteen years ago. That plaza has been turned into offices.

Up the road from both of those was a plaza that held Nichols department store and up the road from that was another one that held Hills. The plaza that held Nichols got bulldozed and a warehouse/corporate offices for a regional beverage supplier was built. The Hills plaza is empty.

And across town in the bigger plaza that held KMart and Woolworth. Everything in that plaza has changed except KMart.

There were a couple around the Boston area..anyone remembers Bradlees???

Used to eat in the restaurant in McCrory's while shopping in the mall. Jamesways and Ames used to be scattered around. Pretty soon all the big old chains will be gone.

Didn't take long for 'em to rust out in the rust states, that's for sure.

How about Caldor's? Bought my copy of Pac-Man for my Atari 2600 there and my 45 record of Jake Geiles- " Centerfold"
What will our kids remember 35 years from now.

I know the picture is stamped jamestown, but I think it is my friends 72 duster in brockton mass. She posted that picture on facebook a while back
