Im considering these tires for my 2001 ram project. They are good looking tires i like aggressive treads on my 4x4 trucks. These are 10 ply mud terrain tires for a price that's is hard to beat. $636 for a set of four 285/75/16 thats pretty good for 10 plys. Anyone here ever ran them?

I was just looking at some thunderer 18" for my 2020 ram. The speed rating is too low according to factory specs, otherwise I probably would of ordered a set.

What is the speed rating and the 18s? The ones im looking at are Q thats up to 99 iirc. My old ram will never see 90 lol it will be lucky to see 75 lol

Most tires now are made by two companies. Bridgestone/Firestone or Goodyear. That appears to be a Goodyear similar tread. Either way, it looks like a pretty decent quality tire.

But the longer they last lol I like a ten ply for a truck. Iv had 4 ply on trucks and not got 20k miles out of them. The last set I got were coopers I really like them they are 8 ply I believe and they have lasted a long time. I just hate paying for them. They were right at 1000 mounted and balanced.

I ran a set of Cooper Discoverer 8 ply tires before, great traction and tread life, but ride quality did suffer some.

My factory specs indicate a speed rating of S is needed. 112 mph. I could probably go with R or Q and feel like there is sufficient margin. I plan on a 4 hour commute to NY a couple times a month, so want good snow traction, but am worried about freeway growl being excessive.

M — Up to 81 mph

N — Up to 87 mph

P — Up to 93 mph

Q — Up to 99 mph

R — Up to 106 mph

S — Up to 112 mph

T — Up to 118 mph

H — Up to 130 mph

V — Up to 149 mph

W — Up to 168 mph

Y — Up to 186 mph

I would imagine they would be pretty loud. I have ran all sorts of different brands of mud tires and I've never found a quiet one. That has never bothered me tho I have always had my truck straight piped and the ac has never worked so the windows are always down and the radio turned up! Lol the road noise never has bothered me I know it does some folks tho.

I have 10 ply tires on Gladys and she rides just fine.
