Tie Rod Ends - Installation.

Do you need special tools to install tie rod ends and upper and lower control arm bushings? How is it done?

The tie rod ends are easy, no special tools.

The UCA bushings are easy. knock out/press it. The LCA is harder. Someone here sent me this link. It makes it pretty easy if you follow it.

I just did mine in the 65 Cuda. I put them in a Vise to get them out, and used the vise to put them back in. I cold of used my press but last time the pres got stuck in the LCA bushing, and it took more work to get the press out of the rubber part of the bushing. If any one was watching they would of had a good laugh at me!

they now make a tool for the LCA bushing. I think American Muscle makes it.

FREEZE, yes, FREEZE your bushings. the cold contracts the metal and rubber. I just did this for my 73 Dart. I used a hammer and a socket for my UCA. LCA I froze the bushings and pressed them in and the shafts.
