Time for an upgrade.

Now We're cookin with peanut oil!!!

Got the motor up on the engine stand today and started pulling her apart. I'm quite pleased.

Every single bolt came out with no issue, no broke off heads stuck parts ext.

Motor turned over beautifully, and the cylinders all look good with nice crosshatch finish.

Timing chain was a little loose, but other than that, motor appears to be in excellent condition.

The plan is to refresh and warm up a bit with a Summit 6401 Cam and some 440 Source Stealth heads, Aluminum dual plane intake, schumacher headers, and aluminum water pump housing to put her on a diet and get her closer to the weight of my small block 360 that's currently in my 71 Duster.

Little bit of an update. Mostly Just been accumulating parts.

I got the cam and lifters pulled and sent off to Ken at Oregon cams to be reground.

We are going with the #2041

224/232 @ .050”, 270/282 adv, .488”/.503” lift on 112 LSA

Currently saving up for the stealth heads, and just been cleaning up the block and getting it ready to paint since that's relatively cheap Dopamine hits :D

I snagged some Brush on KBS Motor Coater paint as i wanted to do a better job this time around than some cheap spray bomb paint that will flake off first fire up. I got the Aluminum water pump housing done tonight because i couldnt wait to see what it was going to look like. I'll be doing the block Sunday Morning and then the aluminum water pump as well if i have enough left over after i do the block.

Good luck, hopefully that is a good block. You'll know once you tear it all apart. Have fun with the project, I'm sure you're going to learn a lot.
