Tire Size for 5.5 small bolt rally wheels on 64 Valiant 200

-
i've never had the two side by side, although having worked under both, i think the valiant is a a little more narrow toward the top. but i don't see a 245 being a problem to fit if you're not super low and it's got something close to factory rear end width (you're fitting a 9" down the line, no?)
I am, yes. It's about 1" narrower than stock. I'm overdue to get the Percy's tool on it anyway, so I need to do that.

That looks tight to the leaf springs. What kind of clearance do you have between the springs and tires?
My Index Finger Fits... So, maybe 5/8"

On the front? Of a 64 Valiant? Those seem a little tall and they fit ok?
Mine are on a '66 Barracuda and a '66 Valiant Conv. I also have 215/70/14's on a '66 Barracuda, and some 235/60/14's on a '66 Barracuda. They all have enough clearance so far, but, I don't use them for slalom racing or off road, so, haven't tested them to the extreme. I can get 9/28/14" slicks on the back if I trim just a little off the wheel opening lip edge to keep from cutting the sidewall. This is on some slotted mags, stock 8 3/4 rear, and stock spring location.

lol Yeah, all I want is spirited cruising at best. I won't be rollin the tires over on the sidewalls. lol Thanks for the input.

Thats super clean brotha ! This is the exact set up I am looking to do you mentioned they are 14 x5 x 5" backspacing on the front ? And the back ?
No, Stock 5.5" Rally on the Front (3.5" BS I think)
and 7" Rally on the Rear with a 4.25" BS

Here's a Better Pic of how they fit... and I'm considering trying these 195/70 R14 on the Front

What do you do when running two vastly different diameters? Do you carry two spares?
I have a 195/70 in the Trunk (24.7") 225/60 on the Front (24.6") the 245 is an Inch bigger 25.6" it's not 4 Wheel drive and has an Open Rear So, No Problem!

These are 225/70/14 all around on 5.5” steelies. And for the record, 215 is the maximum “recommended” size for a 5.5” rim
