Mike, I’ve used that 4966 avs and it is a really good carb, but don’t let fuel supply issues sour you on your Holley. I’ve used Holleys a lot with really good luck once properly tuned. The only problem with them is they’re a bit touchier than Carters on fuel pressure and contaminants. It sounds like your main problem was probably dirty fuel (and possibly even fuel pressure). Good luck my friend. Sounds like you’re on the right track with changing out the fuel tank and where you hook up the lines use fuel injection approved hose as it’ll stand up to the ethanol in today’s fuel. It’s more expensive but will last way longer. Regular old fuel line hose generally doesn’t last more than a year or two before it’s as hard as a rock because of ethanol
