We had to do the same....and our road is a 2 mile straight away lots of speed, people swerve and smack it all the time.I don't understand how that post is in such good shape.
On my grandfather's ranch, he took (1/4 inch) thick oil field pipe, filled it with concrete & set the pipe SIX feet deep into colechee (sp?) clay (like decomposed granite- I had to dig the holes) -all used to protect a part of his property where cars drove too fast around a bend-when it was wet, they destroyed those posts & themselves.
That square post looks like it is only concrete with perhaps a frame inside.
