Torsion bar Question

I was wondering if the 318 bars are the same dimensions as the slant 6 bars

Some a-body slant 6 cars with power steering and air had the same t-bars as the 318 cars. The only way to know for sure is by the numbers on the bar ends.

So the slant 6 cars with out a/c the bars were smaller

Measure the diameter in the middle of the bar (no paint) to be sure.

A/C cars commonly had the next larger bars. My 72 had .870 bars stock.

Is it common to upgrade to a 1" for street use? Small block

.920 were the popular ones for street but now that the 1" are so common yes a lot of guys are going to them..
