I made some passes in my 1966 Valiant 340 last weds nite street drags in Brainerd MN, on street tires, my best time was 13.71 @103 mph. The temps were in the 80's and it was VERY humid. I was hoping to go faster but I need to learn how to drive the car better with the 4-speed, it is a real handful. My tires were spinning in all 4 gears, my best 60' time was 2.305, I need to get some cheater slicks. I had a few bum runs where I shifted to 6,400 rpm and it cut out a bit and popped, sputtered some black smoke. My buddy said that my MP ignition may be acting up, I have an MSD 6al to install yet, also has a rev limiter which is a nice feeling. Overall I had fun, made 12 passes and didn't break anything which is good cause I drove 1 hour to the track. I will get some cheater slicks real soon for the next track session!
