Trans going back into car questions

-
Make sure to use JACK STANDS under the front end, unfortunately the best place to put them is around the frame / torque boxes right behind the front end. I usually have to jack the fron end by the k member as high as I can and place the jack stands, then get a piece of 4x4 or 4x6 to place as a spacer on the jack to lift some more. The engine can also be lifted slightly on the front so it tilts backwards to help with some room on top.

If there is resistance when tightening the bellhousing bolts and it seems like it is stuck at 1/4 - 1/8 inches from the rear of the block.. STOP because the torque converter may not be completely seatred

Converter install

Transmission install

Update for the group the trans is in the car just need to hook up all of the lines and the electrical connection. How does the gear selector hook up to the transmission?
There's a shift shaft on the driver's side that pokes up there should be a lever on that

sounds like a neutral safety start switch

This is console mounted shifter.

Bummer man, hope it works out for you!

Worked like a charm man thanks so much
It's the little wins in life.

Did it get hit during install or did someone Tim Taylor it?

Some thread sealer on the threads.

And tighten it lightly.

Use a backup wrench on the fitting while tightening the tube nut.

Flare nut wrenches will save a lot of grief

I was definitely the problem I went to push the line back to tighten it on. Instead I yanked it back thinking it would just bend the pipe a little and it snapped the fitting.
It happens, if I tighten it just a little bit more....Snap!

today’s update all of the piping and connections are on. I have to fill it up tomorrow and hook the starter wires on. I forgot to put the trans dipstick on so I have to do that also. I think I will change the oil while I’m down there.

I am so glad to see this all working out for you. I changed my share of transmissions in the gravel on shaky jack stands. I can't say that I miss those days, but somewhere down the line you'll tell the story and laugh about it.
