Want to change my A727 automatic for a 90s 518A automatic in my 75 D-100 adventurer can anyone please list the vehicles to look for that had that transmission please
I was told it is a direct bolt up with little or no modifications so I can have overdrive for highway driving and gas saving

If you get the 46RH transmission, it's hydraulically operated, unlike the 46RE. That's what I would look for.

^^^^^^What he said^^^^^^The 46RH changed to 46RE around 1996. On the drivers side of the transmission, there is a plug that points up (not the neutral safety switch that points horizontally) You are looking for 2 pins (non lock up convertor) or 3 pins (lock-up). If it has a cluster of more than three pins, its an RE, and you don't want it.

XP Performance shows the 46RH for $1495 and a $600 core charge rebuilt with a converter included.
Sounds interesting.
