This is my first post after joining seven years ago. No kidding, and I've gotten more done with my '65 Dart in the last two months than I have in the last 18 years.

Now that the drivetrain is finally coming together, I need to figure out how to mount my 727. Is there a kit that I need to locate or does something need to be fabricated?

Thanks in advance.

Well it's about time to start posting!
I don't know about a kit, if it is a 727, I think fabrication and tunnel mods for your 65 Dart.

Yes, agreed. As far as the transmission itself, I understand that there's some hammering involved, too.

I already reached out to Schumacher, but haven't received a response yet. Mike is headed for retirement and his wife has cancer, so the time to move on this and suspension stuff is now.

Yea and there used to be a guy who would cut the early crossmember so you could run duals without having to drop down so low. Your car was designed for a single exhaust pipe.

I hear you loud and clear on getting this done, you never know what will happen in the future!

I'm using stock 340 exhaust manifolds and you're right, those cars were only intended to have one exhaust pipe, though I understand that a little massaging of the fuel tank will fix that. I ultimately want decent exhaust tips passing right below the rear valance plate with cutouts like a lot of stock cars of the era used.

Regarding the K-frame, I'm planning on getting the strengthening kit from Schumacher and then having it powder coated the same 25% gloss black that the rest of the suspension components already are.

I have a 727 in a '66 and the only thing I had to do is hammer a bit on the pinch weld where the floor pan meets the firewall. The transmission mount is in the same place as a 904.

As mentioned, if you plan on running dual exhaust, you might think about getting a modified mount, or modify yours yourself to get added pipe clearance on the passenger side.

This is assuming, of course, that you're not using an oddball 727 out of an A100, 4X4 truck, motorhome, etc.

I know that some massaging will be required to get clearance for that other pipe. I had a friend with a '65 Barracuda and he told me that he had to work the gas tank a little to make his fit.
