trying to clean rearend housing

whats the easiest way to properly clean out the inside of the housing??

Power washer works good, some engine degreaser, with housing warmed up. Have the housing sit in the sun for a while.

Is it out of the car? I would get a can of laqur thinner, dump it inside and let it run out of the ends (if out of the car) You could take an old shirt and hook a wire or coat hanger on the end, then pull it through the axle tubes. I did this on my 8 3/4 housing.
