Hello...
This engine I have came from a buddy about 18 months ago. It came with Holley cast aluminum valve covers. I rebuilt the engine and have it in my 67 Dart, I want to find a properly fitting grommet for the PCV valve.

Currently, I swapped the valve covers side to side to put the PCV hole at the right rear.
The valve cover hole it just shy of 1 1/2", the PCV has a diameter of 3/4". The grommet that is in the valve cover right now has a 1" hole which leaves too much room for the PCV to flop around. Does anyone have a product name or part number for a grommet to work here?

Try a Mopar #3751510

Or if you want to save a couple bucks. Doorman #42064

The grommet you have now is for a crankcase breather.

Hold the phone !!!!! I don't think any of the numbers I gave you will work for you.

Stay calm and google:
Mopar Performance Cast Valve Cover Grommets.
That should be the ticket.

What's the other valve cover have? That looks like it accepts the push in breather...

The other cover has no holes.
I okay with putting the PCV in the other side. The guy that had this engine was not the type to do anything factory correct.

These are the ones I use frequently for aluminum valve covers. I only use the one with the small hole which accommodates a 3/4" pcv valve, they other I just throw in junk drawer. For the pcv valve it’s a common GM one. I usually buy a 90 degree one to keep the hose routing low and better looking.

Make sure you valve cover is clean and dry and set the grommet in with a little silicone like pematex gray and let it set up well.

Are you sure about that 3/4" PCV measurement? If it's closer to 1/2" (most of mine are), then this should work- Dorman 42064:

Thanks. I can read a digital caliper well enough to understand .75.

Okay, then that's a typical Chevy PCV size. In that case, this grommet may work better than the previous one I posted for Chrysler PCVs.

It has an inside hole sized for a 3/4" PCV, and fits a valve cover opening just under 1 1/2".

There are two Ford grommets available, one is for GM 3/4", and the other is 1/2" Mopar. I have both numbers, got them from ME Wagner. Haven't gone out in the shop here, too damn cold here in the upper Midwest. Summit carries the two. Maybe tomorrow. Yes to the breather and are there baffles?

What he's trying tell you is, the correct Mopar PCV valve is 1/2" where it plugs into the valve cover grommet. You have a Chevy size PCV valve.
There goes my chances at Carlisle this year.....

Thank you for the information. It does not matter to me the correct PCV valve size, I don't even remember where this one came from. I am just looking to get a grommet to fit what I have here now.
I do appreciate the help.

Most of the cast valve covers have knock outs.

It looks like the previous owner put some cover over the rear "knockout" and the front section is untouched. This valve cover is now on the other side. I could just get a grommet with a 3/4" inside diameter and cut in a hole to match the outer diameter of the grommet.

It does matter, because you would find it easier to find parts if you were looking for the correct ones. Using the correct Mopar PCV valve with the ID of 1/2" and you suddenly find the grommets everywhere, probably in stock and hanging on the shelf. It's not about making it nut and bolt correct, Greg. It's about letting you know what's correct for the car so you can find it easier. I'll keep my trap shut next time.

I do thank you guys.
I'm all for using what is easiest to find. I'll admit too that in 44 years of owning cars, I've only had to replace a PCV valve maybe twice.

I've had crap luck getting "seasoned" steel valve covers to seal.
