72 demon turn signals work when car isnt running but blow fuses when running. Also the left signal is out in front when headlights are on. please help

What fuse or fuses blow(s)? Read the small letter beside the fuse locations and give us the identification of the fuse(s)? Does either turn signal being activated when running blow the fuse(s)?

As for the left turn signal, will it work with the car not running and then go out when you pull the headlight switch?

so it is the radio fuse and turn signal same fuse 20 amp and im fresh out of fuses so i will get some tomorrow and do some tests. But I also have put a new turn signal switch. When i got the car the right blinker worked and left one i had 2 blink manually with switch. Rarely the left one would blink. im also missing the right fender turn signal and have not located the end of wires yetnot sure if grounding. The blowing fuse problem has been only recently but everything else has been a for 2 years or so. I got the car when it was just done a few years ago just working out all the kinks thanks i will post tomorrow

I would suggest you get a spare headlight or fog light bulb with which to test. Put some wires on the light terminals preferably with alligator clips on them. You can then connect the light to the terminals where the fuse is blowing after you remove the failed fuse. In that way a short will cause the light to glow brightly until you find and correct the short. This saves you killing a lot of fuses while you are testing.

The system voltage is greater with the engine running so that suggests a short that is a poor connection to ground. The location would depend on exactly which light you are activating when the fuse blows. The problem with the left front signal light going out when the headlights are on would suggest a poor ground in that area when the extra current from the headlight is applied.

ok so with the car on right blinker works but slow and left blinker light come on but stays on when turned on doesnt blink. when headlights are on the right blinker works and left blinker is on always except the front light next to headlight, but dash and fender lights on always. then when running blows radio blinker fuse has no number or if it did i cant see it.

Any time a turn indicator in the dash comes on with the park lamps the fault is lack of chassis ground for that L or R front fixture. Could be a bad bulb socket, wrong bulb type, etc... Most common is loose ground wire.
You need to fix one problem at a time and who knows maybe the 1 will fix them all.

If you are saying that the DASH indicator for the left blinker stays on but the actual turn indicator light up front does not light up, then the left blinker bulb up front either has a blown filament, is the wrong bulb, the bulb is turned 180 degrees in the socket, the wiring to it is broken, OR the ground at that front bulb is missing/dirty/corroded. The front left blinker bulb not lighting is the cause of the left not blinking; both front and rear external bulbs have to draw current to make the blinker relay work. (That is a designed-in troubleshooting aid in these older cars.)

As for the blowing fuse, check to see if it blows where you put the car in reverse. The reverse light switch feeds from the same fuse; they occasionally can develops internal shorts to ground when activated. If this does occur, then disconnect the reverse light switch connector and try it to see if that stops the fuse blowing. A short to ground in the wiring to the reverse light switch is a good candidate for this problem too; those wires easily get pinched and scraped when working under the car.

sweet so the problem was the left parking light clip was kinda messed up and previous owner did something weird to go round it and it was disconnected everything is good now except the left parking light when headlights are on but works for blinkers. maybe put some new bulbs in and clean connections thanks guys
