Maybe two missing persons cases from Oklahoma going back 40 or 50 years can finally be solved, and family members have some closure over today's events. Two cars, a 1969 Camaro and an early 50s Chevrolet, were pulled from Foss Lake in Oklahoma after State Police located them by accident while trying out some new sonar equipment. Each car held the remains of three people. Check the link for more info:

My prayers and condolences go to the families of all involved, but like I said earlier, maybe now they can have some closure.

Wow, after all these years. I too hope the families get some closer from this and that they positivly identify all remains.

The crazy shot us Okies do. How long were they in there? The link wouldn't open for me.

The kids in the camero had been missing since 1970, so the car was only a year old.
The back half of the car looks to have come off from being pulled out of the lake.
The story said the kids were on their way to a football game when they dissaspeared.

The other car, an early 50's chevrolet, had three people in it.
It had been missing since the 60's.

Strange as both were found close together.
The Hiway Patrol was playing with Sonar & found them by accident.
The news didn't state whether there was a road close by or how both cars ended up in the lake.

Maybe there's a certain area of road out there near the lake that gets slippery and people go too fast there and wipe out into the lake and drown... Possibly after a rain... Coincidence that it happened with three people in the car each time...

One would think that a car going into the lake would have left some sort of marks - skid marks, busted guardrail, knocked over vegetation, tire tracks, something that would evidence a car went into the water...

Unless they were abducted by aliens and just "deposited" back into the wrong place...
Mighty strange. I will say a prayer for the families.

I looked this up on Google Maps. I don't know if the cars were off the ramp, or if they somehow towed them to the ramp. Almost looks as if "how fast can we go and then stop" on the ramp?

Found this link off of CNN... Crazy and sad story. My prayers to all the families involved! This is the Camaro when it was new with it's owner Jimmy Williams. http://doenetwork.org/cases/4097dmok.html Hopefully some of the usable parts off of the Camaro will help other 69's live on.

Good Grief!!! That website describes the entire STATE!!! It mentions Sayre, which is down in the SE end, and the Ferry and Lake Hudson which is clear NE of Tulsa!!!

They mentioned that there was a pier nearby, possibly where the Camero went in.
The early Chevy was found approx 50 ft from the end of the boat ramp.
Looks to be accidents, even though you would think at least someone could have gotten loose & survived.

Alcohol does amazing things to a person...

Good Lord....sitting there in that car for 43 years....

If you poke around on google maps, there are several roads in the area of that boat ramp, so I can see where it would be easy to think they were on the main road when they weren't, and then full speed right into the water. What a horrible, scary way to die.

The news reports said they were on the way to a football game at Elk City, which is east of Sayre. But, Foss Lake is east of Elk City, so the story pretty much tells itself that they were out riding around.

The '51 or '52 Chevy supposedly disappeared the year before the kids in the Camaro did.

I have to ask, did it simply not occur to anyone to drag the lake? If two cars disappear off the face of the earth in the same area, you bet I would be searching the lake.

this is a picture of the camaro owner with his car before the disappearance
Jimmy Allen Williams
he can rest in peace now
i'm sure the families of all 6 who were found are somewhat relieved, they never knew what happened to their loved ones

Update... http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.a..._of_submerged_car/20130922_11_A24_CUTLIN29696

A cold rain fell the Saturday that Jimmy Williams brought home his 1969 Camaro. The base-model muscle car had a 307-cubic-inch engine, bright blue exterior and white vinyl top. A single white stripe ran up the hood.

Williams, 16, had the car for six days before the Friday night he disappeared with friends Thomas Michael Rios, 18, and Leah Gail Johnson, 18, on Nov. 20, 1970.

Gary Williams (Jimmy's Brother) recalled the "car day," the exciting, rainy, cold Saturday the Camaro came home.

"Jimmy was very proud of it," Williams said.

An investigation into the discovery will attempt to determine the cause of the deaths. The remains of the three bodies in the Camaro are at the state Medical Examiner's Office. DNA tests that could positively identify Williams, Thomas and Johnson could take up to a year.

"Not knowing" must be the most difficult way in the world to lose a loved one.

One car goes missing in 69 then the camaro goes missing in 70, the camaro was 50' off shore and the other close by. I hope they do a follow up on the cause of death. Glad they finaly found them all, hopefully they will identify all three in the older car too. What a tragic thing to have happen and all this time it was right there. I hope there was no foul play at hand but seems a little strange being found near another car... its too bad his parents arent alive to find out they found the camaro with occupants.

I still think this is connected to the ramp which looking from Google Maps appears to be a big wide long "invitation." Here in this area, there's a ramp at Hayden Lake which has suffered a number of people driving off the road and into the water. Some were drunk, who knows the others, I think at least one was suicide.

Hell looks like I'm behind the times, according to this "Spokesman Review" article this was the 12th since 1995!!!

I watch too much NCIS, Criminal Minds and Bones to be able to keep from thinking "serial killer". Hopefully it wasn't but ya never know. If it was hopefully the person is found n brought to justice.
