Upholsterer finally starting on my 64 cuda seats

Will be my third early a interior. Back seats are not bad.
Front buckets are a PITA.
Working arthritis out of joints so I can start tomorrow with my prefered medicine( coors lite).

When my hands hurt I soak them in (warm/hot) apple cider vinegar with cayenne pepper mixed in. Your skin will tingle for about 24 hours but the pain will GREATLY decrease. I was pleasantly surprised............. just don't use your new hand strength to crush your beer cans!!!LOL

Tried some arthritis medicine and it screwed up my tummy along with making my brain even foggier than usual.lol

Most early A's redone seats look flat because the upholstery shops don't want to hassle with the listing wires and you're right they are a PITA.

The pros use a thin plastic like a very thin trash bag. You cover the upper front seat with the bag and it makes it much easier to slide the new upholstery over the seat. You didn't say if you had bucket or bench seats??

Front buckets are actually easier (than bench seats) because "they manufacture make super wide bags" (bench seats). You simply leave the plastic bag in the seat after you've installed the new cover. It makes it 10 times easier to slide the new covers onto the seats (no drag)!! Much less work. Don't worry about leaving the plastic in there because no one will ever know!!
Yes, dry cleaner bags are the thinnest plastic!! That's what the pros do anyway!!!

Plastic will help with slipping over foam but your spot on dogbreath. The listing rods are exactly what make the front buckets a PITA.
Have conquered 3 sets of them before and will again.lol

Turned yard into full service shop today.lol
Polished and re-attached rear seat hardware. Brought rear quarter window panels back to life and started repairs on plastic latch holder covers I scored from local FABO member sat.

Took me about 6hrs. for one bucket seat. Had to replace some of the seat foam. What a workout.lol
They are a little loose but a day or two in sun will tighten em right up.
