Impressive.. I sure as hell wouldn't want my life depending on my ability to take down a large grizzly with a single shot 22 rifle...

In the early 80's my brother worked for the USGS doing survey work, The crew was working in a remote area of North Dakota... The USGS provided each member of the crew with a 38 caliber hand gun for protection... The general consensus amongst the crews was if attacked by a bear likely your best option was you shoot yourself in the head cause you aren't gonna kill a grizzly with a 38 caliber handgun...

in case anyone questions if this lady is a real canuck...the fact that she used hockey tape instead of ductape (American) or actually properly fixing the gun, (Europeans, but specifically, the Dutch) is a dead give away

Very cool story Del, thanks for sharing!
@gdrill may know more of the story.

I did not hear of this before Steve. I live in Blackfoot country vs Cree country. Coincidentally they were not friends back then! That’s an amazing story. True courage and skill. I have a fairly large bear in my basement, but it would be at most a yearling when compared to this monster! And it’s not a yearling!

...........And not just ANY .22.............A cheap as crap single shot and they weren't even long rifle!!!

I think I'd been shakin so hard I'd dropped the spare rounds..............
