What are you guys using for early A gas pedals w/V8s? 2 years ago I converted a 72 gas pedal, worked ok, but I wanted to keep the floor hinged gas pedal, not the suspended one. You can see it in the interior picture of the 64 Valiant we did. This is before we added the floor shifter.

Anyone have picts of a converted S6 one? is it possible?

Also posted in the want sections: Looking for an early A, V8 gas pedal assembly. with or without outer firewall plate. for a 64..thanks. bbacamp Also: still looking for early A V8 engine mounts for a test rig - OR E body SB mounts.

In NJ. thanks

I got a e-mail addres for a guy in Rome NY who has a lot of 64 65 Dart parts
and he has the v-8 gas pedal set up for $50.00 Here is his E-mail

Is this guy in the biz of selling old parts?
I'd flip if someone posted my e-mail address like this.

Yes and he advertises sometimes on craigslist his name is Dave

I hear some of the newer gas pedal assemblies from Toyota are fantastic and even better they will probably give them to you for free.

Best way to do it is to hold out for the early A V8 gas pedal.
There are demples in the floor, where to drill.

The holes in the floor are the same /6 or v8, the difference is the back of the pedal itself.

The v8 pedal has a smooth plastic glued to the back of it that glides on the pedal arm. You may be able to remove the /6 bracket attachments from your pedal and epoxy something to the back of it to glide on the pedal arm.

i converted mine from a /6 pedal to a v-8 pedal. it was simple. there are more mounting points for the v-8 pedal firewall bracket but the firewall is dimpled where you need to drill to mount it. no problem, swap took about a half hour. hardest part was crawling around under the dash and steering wheel. You will need the pedal with the plastic on it. it took me a while to find that but in the meantime i just used it without the pedal as a hanging, spoon-type. Go for it!

I should have a setup if the other sources don't have it.
Thanks, Mark

I can't stand those surfboard stock pedals in the early cars. If it were mine I would put the late pedal in and be done with it
