Here you go. Half 67 half 68.
Sweet car :glasses7:
Here you go. Half 67 half 68.
Here's mine. 65 Signet 200 with about 78000 miles. Stroked 340 to 372, 904, 4:30 gears, 3000 stall. Been driving it for 7 years like this and embarrassing bow ties and blue ovals. It does what it's supposed to. Oh and it's for sale to fund my current project.
Thanks! The slant six car shows a lot more effort than the '72, but the '72 was fun, too, because it was the first forced-induction car I had ever built and I did it without a "kit" of any kind, and did it alone. I learned a little bit building it, so when it came time to think about the blow-thru aspects of the slant six car, I wasn't completely "flying blind"... but, almost.
Never could have gotten to first base on the turbo project without Tom Wolfe (SHAKER223 on FABO) showing us the ropes and guiding these two newbies through the jungle of wrong parts...
I had LOTS of help, in a lot of different ways, building the turbo car... in fact, I'd say that I did less than half of the work on that car. My partner, Freddie, spent many hours working on it, and it shows.... I had nothing to do with cleaning it up from sitting in an open field for 15 years. for instance, nor did I TOUCH the header as it was being built... Freddie did all of that, the design and cut-and-try, himself! We did hire a welder to TIG it as Freddie has a de-fibrilator implanted in his chest and isn't supposed to be near an electric welder when it's doing its thing.
Hopefully, the slant six car will handily outrun the V8; that was our original intention, but we'll see... I can't wait to get them both to the strip at one time and run them off... The inline car is is a little over 600-pounds lighter...
I think it's going to take about fifteen pounds of boost in the leaning tower of power to show the V8 car the way home... The V8 car has 10-pounds of boost. And, 126 more cubic inches...
We'll see... :banghead:
I am the idiot in the "Doctor of Motors" white coat in the photo, below....
