If you’re using the SM aluminum copy of the RPM head, there is no “inner step” to contend with, so a dual spring is a non-issue.
Make sure the retainers and locks in your kit will fit the valves.
If those parts are 7*, they should be for 3/8” stem valves....... not the 11/32” stem valves you’re using.
If the retainers are 10*, they can be used with the correct 11/32” 10* locks.
“What I would do”-
Check the installed height for every valve(check all 16 positions)using correct 10* retainer and locks.
If you can end up at around 1.820” installed height, while still having a shim installed between the spring and the head....... then I’d use a Comp 985, installed at 1.820 - 1.830.
