Very Frustrated and need to rant to someone!!

"Margaret" was the name of the rep I talked to from Braun, and she was not out to win service rep of the year!!

I thought of firing off an email to the company, but i'm sure it would just get deleted by some minion!!

You are also right about the insurance... they approved a Braun lift, and any changes would take us back to square one!! FYI, Nella has very good insurance because she is a disabled child, but we have had a huge problem with them because she gets hospice 4 hours a week, and because of that small detail, the insurance company initially denied the lift altogether, claiming it was CMH's responsibility now. CMH provides the funding for hospice to come and get Nella off the bus on the days mom works!!

Thanks for all the messages everyone, it really helps to be able to talk to people who can offer suggestions, such as the media alerts. I think I'm going to call the local stations and see what they can do to help this along!!

I guess the biggest thing about this is the attitude of Braun...cant be bothered to check their list of approved vendors of their products to help find an available lift, which I'm sure there is at least one in the country somewhere. So many times you see a company go the extra mile to help a customer, and to be told tough chit, youre out of luck is pretty cold coming from a company that should be putting the user of their products first!!!

I agree with the above post...this isn't some luxury item, its a very desperate need for a little girls freedom, mobility and safety. It's approved...it costs $7100.00 and they could care less about getting one to the person who needs it. I'm sure they know the money is waiting when they finally start production. I wish I could just say screw you, I'll buy mine elsewhere!!

Ok, so we should all compose a message on here of what we will say and copy and paste the message into our email so they get thousands of emails all almost the same from a ton of different people.
 
I think if Jeff and Nella want to do this that jeff should write it and we can all copy and paste it into an email with all of our signatures on it.
That way he or Nella can say how much they appreciate the the help they are not getting and we can send them a bunch of them. (to all the email addresses we can find for them) at a national level as well as individual dealerships, as well as the media.

Here's a WAY off the wall idea: can you simply sell the new van and buy a used one with a lift already installed? I used to drive them, and I ALWAYS saw some for sale. They were incredibly tough...I drove many over 250,000 miles and recall one (yes, a Dodge) with 330,000! Honestly...if it's available, I'd be willing to deliver one to MI for you.

I sell to Braun through the ambulance manufacturing division. I also sell to ElDorado in Salina, KS who make the conversion vans and lifts. I also have a account in Marrietta, OH called Steve's Vans and Accessories who is a dealer and installs into vans. If there is anything I can do, let me know and I can try to make a call or two.

I don't know anything about lifts, but I
talked to a lady at a yard sale and they had a
ramp thing that went in the side of a van so
a chair could get in.
It was aluminum and none electric, it looked
like new, if it would be of use to you I have her

OK all, I thought I would update this thread...

We decided to take a big scoop of everybodies advise here and go with sort of a call out. We put a big message on the Braun Facebook site describing our situation and waited, but didnt expect an answer from anyone. Low and behold, last Friday we get a message from a higher level Braun rep stating that there was never a stop in production on the lift we were OK'd for, and that they in fact had them in stock!!! What gives???

So today I call the installation facility to tell them that we had heard from Braun and they could get a lift for us now, and they inform me that our lift is sitting in their hands and they were just going to call to have us bring the van in for installation!!! What gives??

So I call Braun...talk to "Carmen" this time, tell her the story and she say's I'll call you back with an explanation. She calls back with a big apology from "Margeret", no explanation for the story of the production issue, and to tell us that we could now order the lift!!! What gives???

You know what?...I don't care!!! The van is there, the lift is there and it will be done this week!!! I'm still just befuddled over all this, and no one can explain any of it to me, but it's done!! So, I'd like to thank you all for giving us the spirit to carry us through this most bizarre of events!! I dont think I could sit through another episode of this soap opera, but you all made a big difference in our approach!!

Boy I tell ya, "some bodies" needs a great big *** kickin, a few UNpaid days off work, and maybe sit down and write a hundred times "I will do my job."

It's more than great for you, I'm sure, that you seem to have this finally "on the road" to bein' "on the road."
 
That's great to hear, I was reading these posts and was truly bothered by their lack of action. Sure glad it worked out for you and deeply sorry it has taken this long.

It was uncalled for :eek:ops: the system and the world can be uncaring and take the easy way out some times, but dad is a hero :cheers: and took extra steps to make this move forward and take care of the poorly run company and got it dun :cheers:

Well, y'all know that I'll be posting pics of Nellas first entry into the van, and pics from our trip to Cedar Point later this month!! Sadly, we had to cancel our plans for a trip to the upper peninsula as we thought the lift was a no go. Cant get reservations now, so it's Cedar Point instead....and a trip to Disney World in December!! Whoo Hoo!!
