Vete or Viper

I had a big butt argument on one of my truck sites with like 20 other guys jumpin alover eveybody about this an that on the two cars! :evil: What do u guys think about the two cars?wicht one is better?faster?handles better?do just say that its a mopar so it always wins,go into depth about what u think of the two,mostly about the new 06 vetes they clam 500 + HP smaller an lighter then before,what do u guys think?any pics of it?I also heard that viper was changing there look agian with more power then before,did i hear wrong?jump on in guys tell me what u think

Viper, Corvairs, i mean Vets are Mid life crisis cars (no offence to any who have one) i mean Every Vettti see has a 30-40ish Bald guy driving it trying to make him self look cool. Vipers however are more of a HA HA B!tch i got money car. LOL Sorry i know its not exactly what your looking for but its my story and im sticking to it

I have owned 6 corvettes and 2 viper's. I have a viper now and sell new corvette's. There is no comparison. The viper just flat stomps it. I drove the 05 vette with 400 horse and the power band is boring. There's nothing boring in a viper. They claim the new Z06 will keep up with the viper? it will have 480HP. It is also lighter so advantage vette. If Dodge knows this they will make the GTS more than 500 HP so who cares. Me personally, I would rather have my old 69 427 vette. over the new one.

Viper or Vette?....Hmmmm......Viper Hands down.
I meen think about the 2 cars and the rated HP that both pump out.
I have rode in a Viper and in an 05 Vette, What 340S said is the flat truth.
But if I had that kind of money to dump on a car Id prolly go with the new Ford GT 40, 205 MPH and still room to go (but this is a real highend car too).

I have never driven either one, so I can't comment on the performance. As far as looks, I the cars of my choice would be either the 57-62 corvette or the first gen. Viper. I think they ruined the corvette back in the eighties. The C5's have way too big of a Butt section, it's out of porportion to the rest of the car and only slightly better in the C6. Dodge killed the apeal of the Viper with the redesign, they straightend out all the lines of the car, so now it looks more like a Vette. JMO
I'm of the same opinion w/ the new "H2" Hummer, They took away everything that made it a Hummer. That thing wouldn't survive on a trail if it had too.

If you're talking newer cars, then Viper of course. If the new GT-40 wasn't so damn expensive, it would be a contender for the Vipers spot. I do like some of the older Vettes, I've built a few back in the day. A couple of my favorite Vettes are the 67 427 435hp and the 70 ZL-1 (I believe only 2 are known to exsist). My favorites that I've built are a 58 and 67 roadster.

I would choose the Viper any day over the 'Vette because just about anyone can have a 'Vette but a Viper is still a little more special. People turn their heads when a Viper comes down the road, they don't even notice the other usually.

I think I might be having a mid life crisis, not sure ops: it wouldn't effect my taste in cars though. LOL My viper is a 96 gen 1. Still no windows but it has the gen 2 suspension and hood. The gen 1's are the best for TQ and have that muscle car feel to them. My car had 6700 miles on it when I bought it and now it has 8000 a year later. Most were put on last year. I've got borla header's and full 3" exhaust. It's impressive. The vette just ain't gettin it anymore. Someone said the ruined the car with the C4 and they were right. I'll never own a C5 or C6. I would buy another 68 to 82 though. They are a classic. My 69 with a built 427 was fast.

Don't know about the newer vettes. Don't like the body styles.
Up to last December I owned a 1971 350 4 sp convert 37000 miles and a
81 350 4sp t-top 56000 miles cars. Loved them both. They were like
driving on train rails. Never a bit of body roll.
Sold the 71 so I could put Dart in garage, sold the 81
to buy a truck to tow the Dart to the track. Never drove a Viper.
As far as no body noticing them NOT TRUE! Everytime I stopped at
a traffic lite with the 71 People were a p.i.t.a$$ with questions and
compliments.

I have driven the vettes but never even riden in a viper so I realy cant answer.

340s, I thought I was the only mopar guy around that worked at a chevy store sellin and drove mopars. Man the crap I get from the owners and other salesman...lol
