Usn, bm3(sw) uss shreveport 86-89, is1(sw) ficpac/jicpac 89-95, hiang ssgt combat comm 95-97, nyang 106 rescue wing (sow) 97-2000, caang 2000-2005 129 rescue wing (sow), paang 193 sow 2005-2011. Retired msgt (sw) name the conflict i was there for most of them.
 
USMC 1972/1974 radio operator overseas. 174th tfw hancock fld n.y. Desert storm a-10, f-16 mechanic. 1982/2002 retired.
 
US Air Force 1965. Basic at Lackland and then off to Syracuse University for nine months, five days a week of intensive Russian Language classes. Off to Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas for a few months of Voice Intercept Processing school, then to Aircrew Survival course at Faichild AFB, Washington. Got sent to Eielsen AFB, Alaska and flew many missions from there in RC-135 aircraft. Guess where we flew. Also got the opportunity to participate in Arctic survival course in Alaska in February. Warm days are nonexistent in Alaska in February. One tour was enough for me.

I never felt like I was a vet so I never talk about it and then recently I looked into the VA and found out I don't qualify as I was early outed by 5 days so I am not a true Vet. But I support Wounded Warrior and any Legit Veterans cause. Vets today are true Hero's. Thank you to all that serve.
 
Joe, you served. You're a veteran. No idea what the VA said about it nor why. But you're a vet same as anyone here.

Hi Joe, I just saw this. I may not be an authority on this subject, but I have some experience with what you were told by the VA. Try and find your nearest VFW and tell someone there about what the VA said...If you were honorably discharged and you signed no waivers, you are (should) be eligible. Your are a VET!

USAF 1973-1993. I was a Navigator mostly in C-130s. Almost 10,000 flying hours. 3 years in a classified Special Ops unit in Germany. Traveled the world. I really liked my 20 years.
