I cant figure this one out. when I'm driving my 74 duster on the highway it vibrates like crazy. Its fine all the way up to 55 and it goes away at 65. I've had my wheels ballenced and it didnt fix the problem. Could this be my drive shaft? I dont want to pay to have the drive shaft balenced if thats not my problem. Anyone ever had this problem?

Sounds like the classic U-joint vibration to me. Get under the car and wiggle the driveshaft around right by the front, and then the rear U-joint. Any slop or clunking will indicate a worn out U-joint. Do you ever hear a "clunk" when you put it in reverse?? U-joint is my guess and I hope it is, that'll be an easy fix!!! Geof

Other people that have had this issue and have verified that all the mechanical things are correct often find the issue to be belt separation in one or more tires.

Make sure your alignment is correct.

Verify that you don't have worn suspension components.

Less likely would be an engine harmonic issue. Does it do it at an RPM or only at a speed?

Have your tires checked by a competent tire guy.
