IIRC, these intakes were advertised for a 2-6K rpm.

Correction, blocking it off goes with the thoughts of...It goes against the thoughts of keeping the intake cool for max HP.

To the concerned...
The water passage needs to be cut. The water passage has one way in and one way out. So, if you just simply epoxy the entrance shut, there is no flow going in or out.
As said above by 340duster, this keeps the plenum cooler for more consistent power. If you know someone the welds aluminum, that would be the best way to go.

Rare? IDK about that. Harder to find than a standard intake? Sure! Like anything W2. There are just less. This actually my second one. The first one (sold it) came from a member in the original box with the old Direct Connection part number on it. They do pop up on E-bay once in a while.Ive never seen one of those intakes......rare? Water cooling was for cold weather driveability, not power.
