wanting to build a ram NEED HELP

IM SELLING MY DART
for some reason i have this itch to beef up this 85 short bed 2wd ram
im shooting for putting a wicked 318 small block and a 727 torque flight with a 9 1/4 rear end

minus the bumpers, purchase a fiber glass hood, and a leather bed cover.

lower the truck 3 inches

drag lite wheels

this would be a rare thing, but how hard will it be to get this truck in the low 11's high 10's with out nitrous?

this truck weigh as much as a muscle car?

As in all racing forums,it comes down to power to weight ratio.Take for a example,a member here has a 360 motor built up really well and its in a mazda 2200 pickup.Its set up for the drags,and runs in the 11.50 area.There is no big money motor or trick parts,good motor,good tranny and convertor,great diff and gears and tires,and low weight=wheels up and fly,priceless,mrmopartech

KNow a guy that just built a 11.5:1 350 chebby and put it in a little s10. went 11.16 then tuned it down to 10.9something. Power to weight.

I have a friend that went 12.20 in an 84 shortbed Ram, his had a 360 with Edelbrock Aluminum Magnum heads, Lunati Voodoo cam, Mopar single plane intake, 727 tranny, 4:10 8 3/4 rearend. As for weight, his weighed in at around 3400 lbs.
