I agree, ESPECIALLY if the .530 is a solid, since you have to consider valve lash. Also, we caint forget the crappy small block pushrod angle that subtracts "around" .020" or so lift. So yeah, the .530 would be good, I think. I think even .550 wouldn't be "too much" all things considered.So the answer is 250@.050 and .530
IMO, always lift past peak flow a little if possible, Valve doesn't stay at peak lift long enough to access the flow rates there. Peak accessible is usually a bit lower .030-.050 on the flow sheet
