what belts do i need?

car is a 71 scamp with a 69 340 in it that has power steering from an 85 fifth avenue....what belts do i need to order to work with these pulleys? i was thinking a 71 scamp with a 318 and powersteering, but id like to be 100% sure before i go order...if anyone could fill me in i would appreciate it

have any pictures of the pulleys? start out with the 71 scamp with ps and go from there. they don't fit see how much longer or shorter ya need and return them for the right ones.

I asked a similar question when I bought a pulley set recently from Bouchillon Performance. The answer I got was that there was no way to determine exactly which belt you need unless it's a direct replacement for a stock set up, which in your case is definitely not. Best way to find out is to take a string and measure. Takes the guess work out of it. Allow a little for adjustment, perhaps a 1/2". Belts come in 1/4" increments. Hope this helps.

hey guys thanks for the advice! I will try the string method and then go and measure up the 71 scamp ones and see what i come up with...the power steering box is pretty much the same as the ones that came on the scamp, so the belts shouldnt be too far off...i dont have any pics of the pulleys except for whats in my avatar

pic is too small to see the pulleys in it.

looks like the alumn water pump and the ps pump looks to be in a normal location. i would bet a stock 71 dart or scamp v-8 with ps belts would work. or atleast be close enough to return for the proper length one.

Why guess? Easy enough to use a string and go to the parts store with definitive knowledge.

its an educated guess. besides the idiots at the parts store probably won't know how to give you a belt when you give them a measurement ..lol
