Rocky JS,
1967 Plymouth Barracuda was 'introduced' to the Dealers on November 15, 1966.
On the 'new' 383, the Plymouth Production Line was dropping in the 383 Big-Block Engine from the
top on the A-Body cars.
The 1967 Barracuda 383 'Formula S' was only available with 3.23 Gears 'Sure-Grip' from the factory.
Dealers were told, 'not' to offer any Dealer Installed Gear Options.
Yes, there were a few Tests done on the BB Barracuda in 66. I also know they were selling them in December. It appears they weren't produced/delivered to the GP until March - April though. The earliest SPD I have is Feb 27th and all the rest from March 20. I am open the believe differently I just don't see it in the documentation I have been able to gather.
I have heard the gear options outside of the 2.23's were not recommended as well as the 16:1 fast ratio steering.
2} Plymouth offered the 8 3/4" Rear-End as a 'warranty replacement unit' only, and not as part of the standard
option.
3} The 8 3/4" Rear-End became available as a late-year 1965 Production installation.
