What is this temp switch?

"Solenoid charge temp EGR switch"...it was in a newer slant six intake #6 runner. Does it close at a certain temp> I Couldnt vary resistance when ohmed out.

Probably closes as it reaches operating temperature. Most likely keeps EGR from being opened until engine is warmed up.
