What kind of converter is this?

Came with a trans I bought. I called TCI and they said it's not theirs. It has numbers stamped 4003 359 E-8 C2X R2592. It's for a 727 8". Looks like it's never been used.

That is an A-1 converter, built by Marv Ripes of A-1 transmission. It is close to the 8" i have in my '74 360 duster. I picked up over 1/2 a second going from a 10" B&M unit to this one.
