What to look for when buying an engine.

Received the engine today. Looks almost brand New and only been driven 7k. Will move it indoors and put it on a motor stand for a more thurough inspection during the weekend.

Just a picture showing the possition of the exhaust manifold flanges. Going for headers or jeep manifolds so only tolk a picture if anyone would need it for future reference.

Engine mounts... TTI or schumacher? Mancini Racing sells both types The Schumacher is the most expensive but it ssems to include everything. Are there any difference when it comes to oil filter clearance or position of the engine between the two? It I go TTI headers, will they clear the Schumacher mounts? Any pros and cons?
 
Congrats on getting your hemi! Mind I ask what it cost? That looks very clean!

2040USD from LKQ. Could probably do a better deal if I were able to go to a yard and pick it up myself, but very happy with the process as I just clicked "buy it now" on ebay and it was shipped to my freight forwarder in just a few days.

Would have been even more happy if it came with the alternator and power steering pump, but I was told up front that it might not come with those:

. LKQ Online can only guarantee the following to be included: Long Block (Engine Block, Cylinder Heads, Head Gasket(s), Crankshaft, Pistons, Rods, Bearings, Oil Pump, Camshaft(s), Valves & Lifters). External accessories such as: alternator, belts, hoses, injectors, oil pans, electronics, intake/exhaust manifolds, coils, wiring is not guaranteed to be included. If equipped, turbo or supercharger will not be included, these are sold separately.

Also the harness were missing a few connectors that were cut of during removal from the donor vehicle, no big deal as I'm using a GoldBox with new harness anyway.
 
Research power steering pumps before buying. A stock one will/may blow you steering box. Some seem to last longer than others. The new ones put out too much psi. Some guys have used a pressure regulator, others use a different pump. Good luck.

I have a borgeson steering box that I plan to use. Hoping to replace it next week and try it out with the original engine before I start the engine swap.
Can the old power steering pump be used with the hemi? Would ofcourse have to put on a different pulley.
 

Would guess you could use an old PS pump, if you figure out how to mount it. I don’t remember reading if anyone has. I think I remember someone finding a regulator for around $100. That may be a better option depending on you ability to fabricate. Pretty sure that Borgeson box will blow the seals just like a stock box, but someone else may chime in and say different.
 
Got a throttle body adapter plate from EFI source to fit a LS throttle body, but the ID of it is a bit larger than the ID of the flange on my intake. Is the ID on the car intakes larger than on the trucks?

I could try to "port" the intke for a smooth transition or would I be better of by making a new adapter? Haven't sourced the throttle body yet so not sure which size I will go for...

Can you please take a picture of the sensors you are using on that LS TB?
