I have never used synthetic in a lawnmower , but muti viscosity oils have never lasted as long in any of my mowers..quickly grabbed what I saw on the shelf at the closest hardware store. 2 qts of smittys supply co, Roseland Louisiana, synthetic. (2) qts 10W-40 and 1 qt 10W-30
Agreed, that's why I use syn equivalent. They only get changed once a year at most for me, so cost is negligible.I use what the factory recommends, no more, no less.
And I change it every year.
It's not like it costs a lot anyway...
Good engines. I think JR. Dragsters started out with the 5HP versions. Now they have billet aluminum blocks, billet cranks, etc.Ha had a friend that built 5hp Briggs stock go kart engines
He would go around on clean up day and pull out anything with a Briggs
