what's my friends barracuda worth?

I found out that a guy I go to church with has a 68 barracuda fastback formula-s with a 383 four speed and a sure grip rear with 3:23 gears.
Car is black on black and is a fastback.
Galen Govier told him it was number 19 of 25 or so made with theese options and colors.
It is a one owner car and has never been restored.
All the body panels have rust in spots and someneed replaced, and the undercarriage is solid.
The lower doors ,fenders and quarters have some cancer, but the car is very complete and everything works.
Could this be a high dollar car after a correct restoration?
I imagine it would take a good chunk of change to bring it back to its original beauty.

Like with most anything else, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It is a desirable set up and if its an original one owner car it will help its value even more. As far as it being 19 of 25, thats beyond me. I just see it as a 68 Formula S Big Block 4spd car. That in it self makes it cool and worth some money. I'm sure it would be worth alot of money if a proper restoration (translated means high dollar) is done to it, but that would probably turn it into a trailer queen. And to me these cars weren't meant to be trailer queens. JMO

I don't think he has enough money to throw down on a concourse restoration, but a total strip down and body panel replacement and a repaint will do nice.
The interior is next to great condidtion so that is a plus.
The engine and drivetrain are in good shape ,but everything needs gone through and freshened up and or rebuilt.
He is the original owner and he really did'nt think he had much of anything until another cuda owner from church and I saw his car and basically twisted his arm into the realization that he had a pretty rare car in his garage.
Man, my buddy and I want to buy it from him something bad.
He just may let it go if he decides he just doese'nt want to deal with all the time and money that goes along with restoring one of theese fishies.
