I have a 383 shortblock that looks from apearances to be in good shape
suposed to have 33K but who knows?
8.5 to 1 w 452 heads
What is the min compression I should have per cylinder?
What is the Max variance per cylinder?

Thanks

Depends on the cam and condition. Generally I'd be looking for at least 130psi and the more important thing is a varience of no more than 10%.

I've seen non magnum 383's with a calculated compression after cc ing around 7.8 to 8 to one. You should cc first if its apart.
