Whats the proper way to install gas filler tube?

On a 71 Demon, does the filler tube go in thru the hole in the fender or does it get attached from the inside? Thanks

On my '72 and '75 Dusters it goes through the fender first.

My '70 is installed from inside the trunk.

It should go from inside the trunk. Lube the outside of it up it up with some WD-40,along with the inside of the seal,and push it in.4 screws on the outside attach it.Careful on the screws,you can strip them.
