Whats your other car?

-
I had a 1970 Camaro when I was 16. kept it until I got married and only sold it because my future ex-wife couldn't drive it.
That is the only chevy I'd like to have back, the rest of them are crap where I'm concerned. Come to think of it, it was crap too, but I'd still like it back anyway.

my 'other' car is my Stealth- any time I pull up beside something that's supposed to be fast (like my buddy's new supercharged 5.0:D ), I hope I'm driving that and not my Duster lol (at least until the 416 goes in).

Otherwise, my first car was a '68 'stang, then I had a '66. Would love another (looked for a '66 before deciding to redo my Duster last fall).

1990 GMC 2wd original paint.

My dad was a big AMC and Mopar fan, but he was always bringing home odd little imports as well. So while one the first classics I ever bought was a 1960 Valiant 200, I've been involved mostly in vintage Volkswagens over the years.

I had probably a dozen different VWs, from a 69 Beetle to a 67 Bus to a 63 Karmann Ghia. But the highpoint of my collection was a 1966 Type 34, the Type 3 Karmann Ghia never imported to the US.

PICT0575.jpg

Took me 8 years to find one, and nearly a year to get it running, longer to get it "right". But it's so rare that driving it made me nervous and I sold it after being laid off with a fair amount of relief.

ive always wanted, and still continue to want a '66 chevy chevelle. Id put a 427 BB in it with a 4 speed.

WOW...we dream the same. When I was a kid I had models of this car. Different colors, wheels. Even bought two models and combined them and made one chevelle a 4x4. And the only thing better than a 426? A 427......
Of course I got older...bought a 69 Roadrunner. "NEVER" looked back!

My first car was a 74 Nova, followed by a 70 Pontiac Catalina that I wish I still had, followed by an extremely fast 71 Mercury Cougar with a 351 cleveland that I REALLY wish I still had.

So if I was going to start a non mopar forum it should be focused on............. ?

75-87 mid sized sedans are definitely the growing craze in collectible cars, they are still plentiful and affordable. They are shunned by the muscle car sites so a common forum would be cool.

1966 Ford F 100 still have, 1967 Dodge Polara 383 mint car 16,000 miles on it, 1969 Impala SS 427, 1961 T-bird,

I have had many many brand X cars and I still miss my Caddy more than any of the others.

If I didn't have Mopars it would be one of these

My college rommamte picked up a '75 Chevelle Malibu for $1600. Original owner, 84K on the odo, fresh suspension, 350 2-bbl. Found a Laguna S-3 front end and side louvers, got the car painted by a guy he knows, put on dual exhaust, put on a set of rims (from Craigslist) & fresh tires and just cruises it for now. He has about $4500 in it. I'd agree

I almost bought a 1971 Olds Cutlass for $8800, had a Rocket 350 with hardened valve seats, I liked it until I found out it went 0-60 in 11 seconds.

So if I was going to start a non mopar forum it should be focused on............. ?

Ummm.... Non MoPars?

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I know people who like certain brands of cars, and claim they have never and would never own anything else. My response to them is usually something like... "Then you're missing out on a lot of great cars".

Besides the non MoPars I listed in my earlier post here is hardly an American brand of cars that I haven't owned at one time or another. 52 and 60 Studes, 49 Hudson, 40 Packard, '49 Merc Coupe, 60 Caddy model 62, 1950 Lincoln Sedan, 66 Lincoln 4 door Convertible , 36 Chevy Coupe, 39 Willys, 52 Jeep Wagoneer, and even a Mack H model cab over. 71 Pinto 1600, 75 MB 450SL, and presently still own: a 1994 Ford Chateau Club Wagon, a 1998 Saturn SC2 Coupe, a 2000 Chevy Silverado LS, a 2006 Saturn Ion 3, and a 2008 GMC Sierra SLE crew Cab. Probably a few more that I've forgotten over the years.

There are so many more I missed but would have been wonderful to own and drive.

Of course there are always the Mopars, too. First was a 64 Dart slant. then a 36 Dodge coupe (354 Hemi), 68 Hemi Roadrunner 833 x Dana 60 (which was also my first new car), then a 69 GTX 440 - 4 Spd (that I bought with 1600 miles on it). a 67 Dart Convertible, 69 Dart /6, 71 Dart /6, 71 Scamp /6, 70 Duster 318, 72 Dart, /6, 72 Dart 318, 76 Dodge B200 Van (new), a 78 Warlock (440/4spd/Dana - 2 years old), 72 Fury III Wagon (400/727/8-3/4 Sure Grip) 86 Dodge B150 Van (318/904/9.25), 1994 B250 Van...
and presently own:
a 71 Swinger, 72 Swinger, 2007 Cummins Ram 250 Crew cab, 2010 Cummins Ram 3500 Crew Cab Dually.

I drive a 2007 Chrysler 300 and when I need to haul stuff I have a 1993 Dakota Club cab 5,2. Fill my needs for sure.

heres just a couple of my old ones.

for about 5 years straight all I did was swap and trade. would start with a $50.00 beater and swap and trade on craigslist until i ended up with a 10k or 15k car and sell it and start over. but that got old real fast. lots of work involved in doing that (over 160 cars lol).

here a couple of my favorites/first cars/coolest cars ive owned ...some classic, some muscle some newer muscle.

anyways...I don't want to bore you guys, just wanted to share a few of my favorites I have had.

I've owned and driven the following:
69 Corvette coupe
77 F100 sport custom
76 Monte Carlo
73 Dodge Power Wagon
80 Buick Century
84 Riviera
90 Power Ram (still own)
69 Nova
60 Belair
72 Corvette coupe
69 Swinger 340
88 Dodge Daytona
62 Chevy C10 stepside
68 C10 stepside
69 Dart convertible (still own)

I'm sure I've forgotten a few. They were all fun, dependable drivers.

Dad's got a 1965 Ford Falcon with the 170 6 banger, 3 speed manual on the tree. Its undergoing severe bodywork.

My first love was and continues to be a 1970 Challenger T/A, but as for non MOPAR....I fell in love with the MG-B from a story I read when I was a kid, and when I was 17 the local used car dealer in my small VT town had a beautifully restored red 64 Impala on their lot. It had a new 350 c.i. motor in it and a 3 speed Hurst on the floor. My dad wouldn't let me buy it though because there was something wrong with the shift linkage and neither of us knew anything about working on cars at the time. Other than that, the car appeared to be in perfect shape. Oh, the fun I would have had in that car!

I bought this one 40+ years ago. After a ground up resto 4 years ago I gave it away and started my Duster.

Not really mine. 1967 Deville convertible. It is my wife's car but I drive it quite a bit. Kind of like a pontoon boat driving down the road. Completely hidden stereo in the glove box with a couple 12" subwoofers in the trunk. Great cruiser.

My 6 year old son has a 72 GMC shortbox fleetside (kind of in the background) that I bought when he was 2 weeks old. Just starting to line up parts for us to restore together.
