Where do you keep important papers?

It's getting to where few banks have safe deposit box services any more. Our bank is closing the entire branch where we had our box rented. So, we're faced with buying a fireproof safe for our home or some other alternative. How do you keep your stuff safe?

They have your life on file until its suits them/is in their favor...then you have to produce it.. mostly retrieving it by request from the same place asking for it...

Same thing happened to us—our local branch shut down and gave us a short window to empty the safe deposit box. We ended up getting a solid fireproof safe at home instead.

It felt weird at first, but honestly, it’s kind of nice having everything close by. We went with something similar to the best gun safe type—heavy, secure, and actually blends into a closet pretty well.

Large gun safe that's fireproof and it's located in my basement cellar. All concrete walls and ceiling

the other place with the gold is buried under the doghouse guarded by two under fed pits and the steel box is wired with C4 if anyone gets to it. lol

We've got a 2nd bedroom with a long, wide closet that buts up on the back and one side to the living room and entry hallway.

I've often thought about installing a safe on the extreme side, walling it in, so you couldn't tell from inside the closet, and then hanging a picture over it on the entry hall side.
Maybe even one with eyes that follow you.

I would figure in the basement would be good, but I live in Florida and if you dig 6 feet down you will run into wet mud back in the old days you could put in a 25 foot well and use it to water your lawn. Regulation's pretty much have stop this.
