Aircraft mechanic/tech crewchief of sheetmetal offload shop, for a large regional airline at one of their heavy maintenance bases. We repair damaged thrust reverser assemblies, engine inlet assemblies, engine cowlings, and also rebuild / repair cockpit direct vision windows for Embraer 145 , and Embraer 140 regional jets.

I wear other hats at work as well. I am a certified trainer and teach people how to do aircraft sheetmetal repair. When fixtures are needed to be fabricated for component sheetmetal repair, i am the guy they come to when these things need to be built.

I recently was sent to Nashville to look at some special fixtures for reskinning the elevators that are mounted on the back of the aircraft. I reverse engineered what they had with a scratch pad, photos, and a tape measure and built copies for our facility. i also built a pair of fixtures for holding flap assemblies so the composite trailing edges, could be removed and replaced.

Its nice to see fixtures i have made that others are using on a daily basis to perform their jobs. Fun job, been working on aircraft for 20 years now. I know i made the right choice.
