Which arms and ctr. link?
I've got a `73 Dart w/ 72/down k-mem. I don't think pitman/idler/ctr. link are correct. Pit. & idler are relatively straight w/ nuts on bot of ctr. link. Ctr. link is dropped down in ctr. and inner tie rod nuts are on bot. also. The tie rods drop about 1 3/4" to spindle, is this because the inner end is on top of ctr. link and outer end is on bot. side of spindle? I got a pit. arm for 71 Dart from Napa & nut is on top sd. do I need a dif. ctr. link or do I flip the one I have now over, although the bend will be up then ??? Help- bought car this way and want it correct

Thanks for the reply Jim, I think I need to change ctr. link to `72 & down & use early arms to match. I'm trying to put late 80's CPPA hdrs. on w/ 383 & pitman "head" I have now will not work. This is wy I think I need early arms & ctr. link??? Anyone w/ 72/ dn. a body photos or part# of early ctr. link would be apreaciated. Thanks, Dan.

Typically there should be more clearance with the later parts due to the studs pointing down. You will also need to change to an early steering gear to fit the early stuff. I have several early center links if you need one.

The car has a man. gear in it now, are you saying the splines on the gear shaft are dif.??? If not why do I need to chg. stg. gear??? Thanks, Dan.

The splines are larger on the later gears. Supposedly there was a pitman arm for the early gear and late link that is no longer available, but there was never a pitman arm for the late gear and early link.

I found a pic. of a `70 dart k-memb./arms& drag link on another site. It matches the pitman arm I got from napa for `72 down dart. I see that the tie rod ends come in the ctr. link from the front and pit. and idler come in fr. bot.. It now looks pretty obvious to me that parts in car must be `73 & up stuff. Thanks for the help Jim. Dan.
