Looking to get new tire rod ends for my 65 dart. I see everything from $20 a piece up to $60 A piece. I know some of it is quality and some of it is brand. I need functional not high-performance. Will the $20 ones be at least satisfactory?
I have to agree the last couple pieces I bought with moogs name in it was trash I used Detroit axle stuff in my truck it seems to be really well made guess time will tell. For my dart I bought SKP I haven't installed them yet so I cant speak about how they last but they look strong. Have nice joints and good strong bootsProforged.
Moog is absolutely garbage now.
I had trouble finding a Moog pitman arm recently for a job. Ended up using Pro forged looked nice, made I think in Taiwan.I just bought a set of the Proforged tie rods for my 66 barracuda. They are really nice quality parts. I used to only by Moog, but the last few parts didn't last very long.
Napa chassis used to be made by Dana, and was a quality part.just removed moog lower ball joints on the dart. one was binding or some ****. steering feels so much nicer since i changed them out. and will be removing the moog idler arm in the near future because i just have questions of its quality..
proforged seems to have a good following these days.. lots of guys like the higher end napa stuff also..
Moog has a cheaper line called the R series and they are cheaper. Made in China

I had an ambulance that the county put Napa ball joints in.
Drove it 10 miles to the shop for an alignment, and both lowers were moving.
Put Moog in it, and done. That’s why they call it the problem solver.
All metal internals on the fulcrums on Moog.
Many other manufacturers are using plastic in the ball joints so they don’t bind, and they don’t hold up.
In a heavy duty application there is nothing better, I see this stuff everyday.
You get good and bad with everything, but I’ve seen people never grease a Moog part and 2 years later it’s still intact.
The biggest drawback is cost, their not cheap.
I’ve put Moog in my junk for over 20 years and never ever wore a part out.
Now I have replaced a few things over the years under warranty, though it’s normally due to never greasing the parts.
