The guy I got my '70 Challenger from had another '70 Challenger that he has been fixing up. It was born with a slant six and I told him he should really leave it in.

Call me crazy but I'd walk past a lot of other Mopars to see an original slant Challenger. There's almost none left. Just like slant six Chargers. He already has a sweet '70 road runner with 383 power.

I have some factory E-body slant six motor mounts, if anyone is looking for a set ....they are significantly different from the A-body slant six mounts.

I will never build another E-body so I would part with them

who is the good looking guy in the portable garage sitting on the 66 Valiant :D:D

A happy old fart that just got a new safe place for Victoria :D
Before that it was a car cover and enjoyed working on it under a shade tree :D

The 66 Valiant convertible I had about 6 years ago had a stock 225 auto in it. I used it for a daily driver for about two weeks. It was fine in city driving, had really good launch from idle and ran well. It ran good enough that I never thought it would have been worth the effort & expense to change over to a V8. Wasn't impressed with the fuel economy, it was about the same as a 318.

170 auto. Stock. Even has points ignition. Driven 4-5 miles almost daily. Slow as can be yet still lots of fun. People always telling me wild stories of how bulletproof these engines are. Haven't had it on the highway yet and I think it would be scary trying to merge with rush hour traffic. I kept the slant so I could get it ready for the road instead of just a lawn ornament. Hopefully one day get at least a 225 or even a super six.

I'm suprised that no one has mentioned slantsix.org Anything and everything you want to know about the slant.

I had to throw this photo in of my 67 225 Dart.. Best pass 13.37 @ 98 mph.
Yeah, I know Rani said STOCK but these things really wake up with a bit of work.
805 Kid is my hero when it comes to slant sixes

Running an original 225 28,000mi. in a 64 Fury, plenty of zip for a larger car and easy on gas

Here is my latest addition, 75 Dart SE 4-door slant with factory A/C. I bought it on eBay last year and finally got it home! There was factory luggage in the trunk with every receipt from new. I did research on the web and found that the original owner from Ada, OK was Effie May Lynn and she died at 104 years old. It then went to a man in California and when he couldn't drive anymore he gave it to charity, and I bought it from the charity auction company. I have been looking for a nice SE for years and this one fits the bill! The only thing not stock is a Flowmaster muffler, LOL!

I regressed and put a bone stock 1bbl 67 slant in my '65 "S" cuda for kicks. Here is the first start (actually the second as the first's camera wasnt filming but it was identical) it kicked right over. didnt even use the throttle, just choke. Sadly it never hit the street with this setup. I quickly started my turbo build which evolved into a turbo/EFI build which now has blossomed into a experimental electronic engine management testbed...at this rate itll see Spring fling 2016.....

well here is my 71 swinger just as it left the factory except for the painted roof after I removed the vinyl. 95,000 miles and it runs perfect. we are keeping it like that.

you ever get that carb rebuilt?

I still need to rebuild it, but it starts and good enough for now. It was pretty mad this morning when it was 27 degrees out, not used to that! I noticed that when it warms up it runs really good, just when it is cold it hesitates, but the choke works great!

does it have a block heater?

Thanks for a great thread Rani. Here is my '63 Signet, and yes it's pretty well stock with the 1bbl Carter.

I thought that most FABO slant sixers would also be into /6.org, fantastic site with lots of specialised /6 info.

Oh, I visit slantsix.org sometimes, but it's mostly just for tech info. The cool banter and interesting general a-body info is all here.

HEMISSDART, I had the pleasure of working on that car.Nice ride.
