Who makes a good printer?

So, who makes a good, SIMPLE printer? JUST a printer. not an all in one printer, scanner, copier, masturbator or anything else. I am SICK AND DAMN TIRED of printers that give me fits trying to print stuff. All I want is one that will print when I mash the button. Every frikkin time instead of pissin me the FRACK off. PERIOD.

The last one that did this, I threw it in the back yard and unloaded a whole cylinder of .44 magnum rounds in it. This time it was my 13.5 EE foot. Mightta been stupid, but it sure as hell felt good.

Have the love of your life,check out the employment situation. My Wally-World had an H.P. desk jet 1010 ,for 29 and change. Clearance sales,rock.

I had an old Okidata unit that served well for about 15 years. Then the technology passed it by and I have been dealing with the junk like on your floor since. If you can swing it money wise get a good laserjet (NOT INK CARTRIDGES). I have a Lexmark inkjet that prints good but the friggin thing is always out of ink.
 
Go get an HP Series 4000 Laser unit. They are industrial printers. I have used them for years with no problems at all. I got 2 now. 1 is a dedicated check printer and the other is for printing loan documents etc. Work horses is what they are. I paid $150.00 for my last one refurbished, 3 years on that one and probably have printed 300,000 pages if not more.
 
lmao...sorry Rob...just had this visual of you with a 44 mag blowing this printer to hell like the OK coral...thats some funny ****....I have done **** like that before so I know how you feel and the frustration is overwhelming specially when it comes to **** that doesnt work like it should....have no idea on what printer to get am sure you will have plenty of people give recomendations...a Wyatt Earp brand would fit the bill.....

I have had many HP printers, and they are terrible. :banghead:

I even had one right out of the box where we pressed the power button to set it up and the button got stuck and we couldn't free it. Luckily it was stuck in the on position. :violent1:

I didn't feel like packing it up and returning it that night, so I left the bag with the receipt in my son's room. The ex came to visit a day or two later and threw the bag and receipt in the trash. Then I couldn't return it. But it did last about a year before I had to replace it. :violent1:

If I stock up on ink too much, the printer breaks before I can use the ink.. :axe:

Then I have to try to find one that uses those same cartridges. :banghead:

Or buy one that takes another cartridge and take my losses on the ink.... :wack:

You would think that a HP printer would work great with a HP computer, but nooooo..... :banghead:


I go through printers like Kotex.... :finga:

(well, I don't personally go through Kotex, but you know what I mean - no smart *** comments about that.) :mumum:
 
I've had good luck with HP. I like that most aftermarket/refill cartridges usually work. Saves a lot of $.
Regardless of brand, just get the best sale you can find on the minimum features you want. I buy them as if they were disposable, and if they last a while it's a bonus.
 
IMO Just basic printing (no color) I'd go with a Brother HL-2270DW Compact B/W Laser. Ebay - Amazon 100-110.

HP color inkjets poor support and milk you on ink.

Epson color inkjet I like for photo prints but again, they eat the ink.

A Square Trade (or similar) warranty might be a good idea. (Unless of course the item is used for target practice)

2....I visit the thrift stores and look for LASER printers, not INK printers. In fact I prefer monochrome, as all I print here at home is mostly manuals 'n stuff

3...If you use INK printers you must use them some to keep them from plugging. There is no easy solution. Ink cartridges are one of the biggest ripoffs in this country, at least as big as cellphones and cable TV.
 
Yup. They use the same toner / powder stuff that "copy" machines use

In fact I just dragged home a "combo" machine today for 26 bucks. It's a combo printer / scanner / copier. I haven't tried it out yet, but the thrift stores give you a "tail light" guarantee

(As long as they can see your tail lights, it's guaranteed)

This thing is called a Brother MFC-8640D. I'll see in the next couple of days if it works. If not, I'll haul it back down there, the 2 miles or so, LOL

Exactly.

I got a Brother laser printer from a goodwill store for 20 bucks and it had all the manuals, USB cable and stuff with it, and looked brand new.
It costs me 20 bucks every two years or so to refill the cartridge, and it ALWAYS prints.
Toner doesn't dry up either, so it can sit there for weeks sometimes and still prints perfect the first time, every time.
It's our main network printer, for all our computers to use.

HP lasers are pretty good too, I just don't like thier inkjets much.
 
had an epson and couldn't stand that thing so i bought a HP and i hate this thing too.

i don't print a lot and usually in B&W but sometimes i do need color.. buying ink pisses me off. costs way too much for how long it lasts. damn printer always seems to be out of ink.
 
We've been using an Epson WorkForce 630 for the past couple of years and have absolutely no complaints. We bought it at Sam's Club at a great price. What I like best is that it uses 4 separate ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) so you only need to replace the cartridge that's out of ink rather than throwing away remaining ink in a multi-color single cartridge.
I haven't used the fax feature, but the print, scan, and download from memory cards work great.
Oh yeah, it's wireless too.
 
And exactly how gay will it be to ask "Excuse me, where are your cyan and magenta ink cartridges?" LOL
